Chikaming Open Lands is applying for renewal of accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance. The program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting natural places and working lands in perpetuity. Chikaming Open Lands was among the first 39 land trusts out of 1,700 in the United States to be accredited when the program was initiated in 2008.

Friends of New Troy Present: A Dying Art, Thurs., March 22, 6:00 pm, New Troy Community Center

Join the Friends of New Troy for Dinner and a Movie night featuring A Dying Art by Justin Olmstead. The documentary features maple syrup making in Galien followed by a pancake supper and informal discussion with Galien's maple syrup masters. $6/adults ($10 for 2); $3 children under 7 years. Tickets are available at Center of the World Woodshop in Sawyer, the New Troy Community Center, or by calling Terry Hanover at 269-426-4281.
