It seems like only yesterday we were donning hats and gloves, and here we are gettting ready to welcome summer to Southwest Michigan!

It's time to get outdoors, and as such, we encourage you to head over to Robinson Woods Preserve this weekend. Chikaming Open Lands has been working hard to complete the new parking lot,  and to clear the 1.25 mile loop trail through the 80 acres of virgin and second-growth forest.

Stewardship volunteers get Robinson Woods into top form for hiking season

We want to thank our Stewardship Committee and other volunteers who have helped make these improvements possible in time for this year's hiking season! Above, you can see them building the split-rail fence around the parking lot to prevent motor vehicles from entering the preserve and clearly define the parking area. Next, they will be installing an informational kiosk. We'd also like to thank the Laura Jane Musser Fund, which provided vital funding to help make the preserve more accessible to the public.
