Winter Tree I.D. Workshop

December 7, 2019 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm

The leaves have fallen, and identifying the trees in your backyard can be challenging. Join us for this Winter Tree I.D. workshop as Botanist Bob Tatina leads us through Robinson Woods Preserve to show us how to identify common Michigan trees during the winter months, focusing on their twig, bud, needle, and bark characteristics. Bob is Professor Emeritus in the Biology Department of Dakota Wesleyan University and Editor, Proceedings of the South Dakota Academy of Science. Bob has a PhD in Botany, and has studied and worked in various forests and prairies in Illinois, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wyoming and Montana.

Please dress appropriately for outdoor activity, event will continue snow or shine!

Registration Required. Please contact the COL office at cstruecker@chikamingopenlands.org or call (269) 405-1006 to reserve your space today!
