Sustainable Living Series: Session I
May 11, 2019 from 10:00am to Noon
Mushrooms of Michigan
Welcome to the world of mushrooms! The spring season brings warm wet weather that is perfect for promoting wild mushroom growth. Do you feel that foraging for mushrooms can seem like a daunting task? COL is excited to partner with state certified mushroom experts Rudy and Diana Shafer of R&D Mushrooms to lead the first Sustainable Living Series session, Mushrooms of Michigan! Rudy and Diana will guide us through Robinson Woods Preserve and show us how to properly identify common mushrooms of Michigan, which ones are edible and which ones to avoid, give advice on how to start growing mushrooms at home, and the many uses of mushrooms from medicinal to mushroom products.
R and D Mushrooms is locally owned and operated by Rudy and Diana Shafer. They specialize in wild foraged mushrooms, as well as farm raised mushrooms, medicinal mushrooms and mushroom products.
Space is limited. Please contact COL to reserve your space at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (269) 405-1006.
$10 per person, per session.
