Invasive Species Workshop

September 28, 2017 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Join us Thursday, September 28th to discover how you can help Chikaming Open Lands protect our unique ecosystems in Southwest Michigan from invasive species. This is an opportunity to learn how to identify and report invasive species that are currently here or are threatening to invade the region.

Topics discussed will include identification, habitat, and impact that invasive species have on the environment as well as human health and the economy. The importance and role of native species will also be discussed and their identifying features will be covered to aid in distinguishing beneficial native species from harmful invaders.

Free educational materials will be provided that will be beneficial for invasive species identification and control.
